Sparta Indoor Percussion, an independent indoor percussion ensemble, was originally conceived to give members of the San Jose State University drumline an outlet to compete in an Open Class Indoor environment. It became clear that the Bay Area at large needed this ensemble as well - to be an opportunity for those who don’t have scholastic indoor programs, to college-aged students who wanted to progress in the activity.

Sparta Indoor Percussion will continue to be solely focused on providing local marching percussionists an opportunity to perform at an Independent Open Class level, supported by an experienced staff of diverse ages and backgrounds.

The ultimate goal is to be a stepping stone to World Class DCI and WGI organizations, bridging the gap from the high school experience to what used to be an unachievable dream - but is now an attainable reality.
